A Natural-Looking Smile Makeover

What Are Dental Veneers?

Dental veneers are thin, custom-made shells that are bonded to the front surfaces of your teeth. They can cover chips, cracks, small gaps, worn or uneven edges, and deep stains that whitening can’t reach. Because each veneer is shaped and shaded for your smile, the result looks natural next to your own teeth. For many patients, veneers are the most direct way to change the shape, color, and alignment of their front teeth all at once.

Are Veneers Right for You?

Veneers can be a great fit if you have healthy teeth and gums and want to improve teeth that are chipped, worn, discolored, misshapen, or slightly crooked. If there is decay or gum disease, we treat that first so your new smile lasts. Veneers aren’t the only option, either. Sometimes teeth whitening, bonding, or clear aligners can get you the result you want more conservatively. Dr. Aghera will walk you through every option and help you choose what’s best for your smile.

What to Expect

It starts with a cosmetic consultation. We examine your teeth, talk about what you’d like to change, and plan the shape and shade of your new smile together. To make room for the veneers, a thin layer of enamel is usually removed from the front of each tooth, so traditional veneers are considered a permanent choice. We then take precise impressions so your veneers can be custom-made. At your final visit, we check the fit and color and bond your veneers securely in place.

Caring for Your Veneers

Veneers don’t need special care. Brush twice a day, floss daily, and keep up with your six-month checkups and cleanings. Avoid biting hard objects like ice, pens, or fingernails, and ask us about a night guard if you grind or clench your teeth. With good habits, your veneers can keep your smile looking great for years. Flexible financing is available to help fit treatment into your budget.

Veneers FAQs

Do veneers look fake?

Not when they are planned well. Each veneer is custom-shaped and color-matched so it blends with your natural teeth and suits your face.

Can veneers be whitened later?

No. Whitening works on natural enamel, not on veneers. If you want a whiter smile overall, it’s best to whiten your natural teeth before your veneers are matched, so everything stays the same shade.

How many veneers will I need?

It depends on your goals. Some patients need just one or two to fix a chipped or discolored tooth, while others choose a set across the front teeth they show when they smile. We’ll recommend what makes sense for you.

Is getting veneers painful?

Most patients are comfortable throughout. We use local anesthetic when preparing the teeth, and some patients notice mild sensitivity for a few days afterward.
